Together with the M1 Abrams, the M60A3 formed the core of U.S. tank forces during the 1980s. It featured a cast iron chassis that was inherited from the M48 tanks that first appeared in the 1950s and was powered by a super-charged air-cooled diesel. The turret, too, was manufactured from cast iron, and was mounted with a 105mm gun with thermal sleeve to provide protection from barrel distortion. Other technologically advanced additions at the time included a laser based rangefinder and ballistic computer, allowing the M60A3 to pack a fearsome punch. Production began in 1978, and the 3,600 examples produced went on to fulfil a leading military role for more than 20 years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/section\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"Tamiya","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51359250186546,"sku":"TAM35140","price":31.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0718\/8565\/2274\/files\/TAM35140_A1_DAF1U9YS.jpg?v=1782262962","url":"https:\/\/pchobbies.com\/es\/products\/tamiya-1-35-u-s-m60a3-105mm-gun-tank-model-kit-limited-edition1-2-in-stock-tamiya-1-35-u-s-m60a3-105mm-gun-tank-model-kit-limited-edition","provider":"Pacific Coast Hobbies","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
